The STEM Generation Charity has been created to ensure the advancement of education for young people including those in primary and secondary education, in the subjects of Science, Technology, engineering and Mathematics (also known as STEM).
Our trustees are passionate about science and education and are committed to ensuring all children get the very best education possible irrespective of gender or ethnicity.

Ian Kilpatrick

Ian’s early life began in accountancy, including being UK controller of the UK sales and marketing arm of, then, Fortune 50 company Litton industries. Followed by a partnership in a finance and management consultancy.
Ian then established in the late 1970’s, and subsequently chaired, the International Value-Added distributor Wick Hill Group, with particular focus in Cyber Security. When they were acquired by Nuvias Group in 2015 he remained a Board member until 2020.
He has his own consultancy business and remains a strategic advisor to Nuvias.
He is also an advisor on the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) digital strategy panel, is on the judging panel for the FSTech awards, the CRN women in the channel awards and the CRN Channel awards.
He is Chairman of the Trustees of Walk the Walk, the UK’s largest grant making breast cancer charity.
Co-Founder of STEM Generations, a not for profit organisation, who have designed and supply, mobile scientific workstations for schools enabling teachers to deliver investigative science and engineering in schools which don’t have dedicated facilities.
Paul Eccleston

Paul started his career as an Aeronautical engineer and studied Aerospace engineering.
Looking to change career Paul later studied in Opto-electronics which ultimately led to a career in Engineering Sales and on into IT. Paul then studied an MBA with Warwick University to build general management skills and as his career moved into Board level roles studied again to become a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors.
This led to becoming the CEO of various companies from a £25m UK business to a £2bn EMEA business.
Paul is passionate about the role of education in development and the role of Science and technology in securing the UK’s leading position in the world.
Wendy Shore

Wendy started her career in the banking sector and studied accountancy.
Whilst working in the financial sector for a large IT Vendor, she decided on a career move into IT support and ultimately worked her way into Customer Support and Professional Services.
Having gained experience in numerous sectors within the IT Industry, this ultimately led to an Operations Director role which she still holds to this day.
Wendy loves a challenge and enjoys building relationships and making connections across the board.
Laraine Atkins

Laraine studied English at London University and became a teacher, teaching in London, Birmingham and Bedfordshire for nearly fifty years.
She was the Head of the most successful Media College in the country, winning numerous awards. She was also an examiner for Expressive Arts moderating students work from a wide variety of schools across the country.
Laraine has always been a passionate educationalist and committed to ensuring that all students get the very best education possible irrespective of gender or ethnicity.
